Our AI Footprint
We're an AI-powered app - and AI has real environmental costs. Every chat message and analysis uses compute power and energy.
Here's how we minimize it:
- Prompt caching - We cache repeated context so the AI doesn't reprocess the same information, cutting compute usage significantly.
- Smart context retrieval - Our system pulls only relevant data for each conversation, minimizing unnecessary processing.
- Ongoing optimization - We continuously refine our AI architecture to do more with less.
- Efficient AI models - We use Claude Haiku for data processing tasks (like logbook imports), reserving more powerful models only when they're truly needed.
- Privacy-conscious AI provider - We use Anthropic's Claude models because they automatically delete all data after 30 days and never use your data for training, unlike many other AI providers.
Beyond optimization, we donate 2% of revenue to organizations protecting climbing access and the outdoor spaces we love.
