Overview

ClimbingPartner.ai ("we", "our", "us") provides AI-powered climbing training and calendar tools. This policy applies to all users and all supported languages; the English version controls if any translation differs.

Information We Collect

  • Account and profile: email address, name (if provided), preferred language, climbing goals and experience, physical attributes you choose to store, consent flags for sensitive fields.
  • Product data you add: training plans, sessions, projects, wellbeing logs, notes, uploaded media links, and calendar entries you create in the app.
  • Device and usage: log data, browser/device info, interaction events used to keep the service reliable and improve UX.
  • Support interactions: messages you send to us for help.

Google User Data (Calendar)

  • We request the scopes https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email solely to connect your Google Calendar account, show your email in the connection UI, and create/update/delete events you ask us to manage.
  • Data we access when you sync: event titles, start/end times, time zones, locations, descriptions, attendee lists you include, and Google event IDs. Tokens are stored encrypted; event data is stored only to keep your calendar in sync and for retries.
  • We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, marketing, model training, or any unrelated feature. We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except service providers acting as processors needed to run the app (e.g., hosting, database). We do not send Google event content to AI models. Google user data is never shared with other users.

How We Use Data

  • Provide and improve features: training planning, progress tracking, AI coaching, board control, weather insights, and calendar scheduling.
  • Fulfill calendar actions you request: create, update, and delete events, keep app and Google Calendar in sync, and prevent duplicates.
  • Security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
  • Communications: account notices, service updates, and support responses.

AI Data Processing (Anthropic)

  • We use Anthropic's Claude AI models to power our AI chat feature and training insights. We chose Anthropic specifically for their privacy-first approach.
  • When you interact with AI features, relevant data from your account (training logs, projects, preferences) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses.
  • Anthropic automatically deletes all data sent to their API after 30 days. This is different from other AI providers like OpenAI, which may retain data longer.
  • Anthropic does not use your data to train their AI models. Your climbing data remains private and is not used to improve their general AI systems.

Sharing and Transfers

  • We do not sell personal data or Google user data.
  • We share data only with processors that help us operate the service (e.g., hosting, database, monitoring, email, AI services). They are bound by confidentiality and may use data only to provide their services to us.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising or for purposes unrelated to providing or improving the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

  • We retain account data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time: contact privacy@climbingpartner.ai.
  • Google Calendar tokens and synced event references are kept only while the connection is active. Remove the connection in-app or from your Google Account to revoke access; we will stop access and delete stored tokens.
  • You can delete events or other content you created; we propagate deletions to connected calendars when applicable.

Google API Limited Use

  • We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • Google user data is used only to provide or improve calendar functionality you request, is not used for ads, is not human-readable beyond what is necessary to operate/support the feature, and is not shared beyond processors needed to run the service.

Security

  • Encryption in transit and at rest for user data and Google OAuth tokens.
  • Access controls limit who can reach production systems.
  • Monitoring and logging to detect abuse and reliability issues.

Your Choices

  • Disconnect Google Calendar at any time via the app or your Google Account permissions page.
  • Delete events, sessions, or projects you created; request full account deletion via privacy@climbingpartner.ai.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications via email settings or by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

The service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We will update this policy when practices change and will revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
